About Us

New Boon FRP Solo - Fit Out

Even at the plug stage for the deck moulding, great consideration was given to the final fit out and we spent some considerable time going through the options.

This resulted in the ergonomic deck top control line block design that you see on the finished boat (pictured top left) and the mast step block design (pictured top left) which raises the foot of the mast to maximum height below sheer line.

Note each control line is lead through it's own individual pulley and not off a bolt & plate arrangement attached to the mast step which can result in poor lead angles and excessive load on the mast step..

All control lines are MARLOW CONTROL continuously spliced and fed through the bridge moulding purposely designed with continuous lines in mind.  This results in and endless system that provides the advantage of never reaching the end of the control line, which at some point everyone does when using ended lines.  Each line is laid out on the thwart end cap with Harken guides, placing each line to hand.

Latest Additions

All our Boon Solos now come standard with a 2:1 Harken low profile traveller car, and a new floor pattern  from our proven maintenance free nonslip deck covering.

The above hull shows the additional cleat mount on the thwart. This is to house the

cleat for the continuous traveller system (available on the options list) and the adjustable toestrap cleat. On this boat the toestrap cleat has been moved from the side deck and supplemented with a cleat for the new centre board uphaul with shockcord pull down (also available on the options list). Standard layout has no thwart cleat mount and has the toestrap cleat mounted on the side deck first from right.

The above picture :- shows our custom made tack tick compass mount specifically designed and positioned for ease of use on the race course. To easily enable the use of all functions.

The above picture :- clearly shows an overall layout with optional extras included. All lines are continuous and spliced with MARLOW control line.

All New foils

In addition, after considerable research and development we are now proud to supply our new Solos with our brand new foils as "standard" from our completely new tooling, its taken a while to complete but the end result is worth the investment. To take a look click here.
